STUDENT SHOW – 2021

Registrations for Aerial Students

Aerial Students are invited to be part of our Annual Show

Our student show is performed in a theatre (Darebin Arts Centre), under lights and in front of an audience of 300 people. As well as Aerial acts, our Circus Extra and Circus Up classes also take part. If your child is in Circus Extra or Circus Up, please head to this link for information relating to them.

Free Coulston is directing, and will work closely with Aerial Performers to create their acts. In previous years, the format has been a cabaret style performance, however this year will be a more cohesive performance and will follow the story of  “Alice in Wonderland”, spread out over two shows, i.e. part A and B.

When is the show?

Saturday August 28th and Sunday August 29th – both shows start at 1:30pm and run for approximately 90 minutes.

Students perform in one show only, but will be notified which one by July. As we can’t guarantee  your choice of day, you must be available for both.

When are rehearsals?

Weekly rehearsals run on Sundays from 2pm – 5pm

Eligibility

To perform you need to be:

  • Training at Level 5 or higher
  • Have previously taken part in at least 4 “End of Term Show Offs”

Commitment

Taking part requires you to:

  • attend Sunday rehearsals
  • be available for all scheduled rehearsals – if you miss rehearsals you may not be permitted to perform
  • be available for all safety / technical rehearsals – for safety reasons, missing a safety or tech run will mean you cannot perform
  • attend two classes per week in term 3
  • maintain consistent attendance in your regular classes
  • make time for homework outside of your rehearsal / training time (e.g. listening to your music and memorising choreography)

Our annual student show is a rich and rewarding experience, and we would love you to take part. However, we cannot understate the commitment needed to prepare to perform Aerials in a theatre production.

Before registering, consider that you will be training and rehearsing at least 3 times every week, totalling at least 5 hours each week.
