Circus 101 is perfect introduction to Circus skills for 5 – 12 year olds
Participants develop confidence, strength and agility. These sessions run for an hour and incorporate a variety of skills.
Suitable for beginners and those with basic experience.
Participants in Circus 101 explore their physicality and develop confidence within a safe and supportive environment.
Students develop strength and agility while learning foundational skills in Tumbling (such as forward rolls, cartwheels and handstands), Acrobalance (building pyramids) and Trapeze, Manipulation (spin sticks, juggling and Hula Hoops).
Separate classes are run for the following age groups:
- prep* – 8 year olds
- 9 – 12 year olds
*Participants in the prep – 8 year old group must be enrolled in Prep to participate in this class. If your child is not currently attending school and between the age of 3 and 5 years, please check out our Tiny Tops classes.
Circus 101 sessions run for 1-hour
During the last class of Terms 2 and 4, participants in Circus 101 participate in and end of term “show off”. This is an informal chance for students to show of their skills for parents and family members.
Additional training options
For those under 9 years old, Aerial Prep is the perfect complement to Circus 101. While older kids can enrol in Aerial Basics.
Students enrolled in more than one class receive the following discounts:
– 20% off the price of their second enrolment
– 40% off the price of their third enrolment
– 60% off the price of their fourth and any subsequent enrolments
Families with children:If you have more than one child enrolled, there is a 5% discount for the second and subsequent siblings.
Circus 101 fees are charged on a per term basis and are calculated on the number of scheduled sessions. At $24 per session, the cost of a 10-week term works out to $240.00.
Classes do not run on public holidays – students in effected classes are not charged for those sessions.
Where to from here?
Students who attain the following skills in tumbling, are invited to move into a higher level class called Circus Extra*:
– Forward roll – 3 in a row
– Cartwheel – on a line
– Cartwheel – 3 in a row
– Handstand – tummy to wall, 10 seconds
– Scorpion kick – aka half handstand
*Must be approved by a coach – in the last few weeks of term, our coaches run in class “check in’s” to asses if a student is ready to move to a higher level class.
